🗳️ Cast Your Vote (6th Engineer) + A New Way to Unlock Stretch Goal #6
3 months ago – Wed, May 13, 2026 at 01:07:00 PM

Hellooooo everyone - We’re Back! 🚀

We are getting closer to unlocking Stretch Goal #5… and now it is time to cast your vote for the 6th Engineer!

We just crossed €138,000 with more than 1,600 backers behind this mission.

And we now have exactly 7 days left on the clock. Seven. Days.

So we thought: if this is our final week together as a live Kickstarter campaign, let’s make it one to remember.

Today, we have two things for you:

One you have been waiting for.
And one you definitely did not see coming.

Part 1: Cast Your Vote for the 6th Engineer

We promised you would get to choose the next Engineer, and now it is time.

Meet the four candidates. Each one brings a different ability, a different personality, and a different kind of chaos to the reactor. You will find the poll right below this update. Take a look at the candidates, read their abilities, and vote for the Engineer you want to see inside your box. The vote will be open for 4 days. After that, it closes automatically.

This is your Engineer.
Your choice.
Your crew.

We love all four of them, so we cannot wait to see who wins. It will also finally settle an internal bet we may or may not have made. 😄 😜

Part 2: The Final Reactor Sequence

Now for the part you did not see coming.

We have loved building this campaign with you so much that we want to make the absolute most of every single day we have left.

So… we want to put the final stretch goal into your hands.

The last stretch goal still on the table is: Stretch Goal #6: The Project Lab - 3D-printable Clip-it files + 5 guided projects

Originally, The Project Lab unlocks at €200,000.

But Mission Control has authorized one more way to unlock it.

Not through funding alone.

Through you.

If this community completes all 7 missions in the final 7 days of the campaign, we will unlock Stretch Goal #6 for every single backer, even if we do not reach €200K.

Your mission power counts.
Your energy counts.
Your action counts.

The final stretch goal is officially in your hands.

7 days. 7 missions. 1 community challenge.

Every day, we will drop one mission through a campaign update, with clear instructions on how to complete it.

If all 7 missions are completed by the community when the campaign ends, The Project Lab unlocks for FREE for every single backer.

Ready?

.....Initiating the Final Reactor Sequence....

🎯 Mission #1: Transmission Log

Goal: 200 Mission Reports submitted!

Here is how to complete today's mission:

  • Share the Reactor Rescue Kickstarter link on any social media platform with one simple sentence explaining why you backed the game.
  • Use the hashtag: #WhyIBackedReactorRescue
  • Use this form to submit your report: https://forms.gle/sjh1mZCqPyvzgQBr8
  • Then come back to this update and comment "Mission Report Submitted". That is your mission report submitted!

If we reach 200 mission reports, we mark Mission #1 as complete.

On the final day, we tally every mission. All 7 complete? Stretch Goal #6 unlocks for everyone.

Mission 2 drops tomorrow.

LET'S GOOOOOO!

Mission Control is watching. The reactor is charging. The final reactor sequence has begun.

P.S. Don’t forget to cast your vote. The reactor needs its 6th Engineer! ⚡

All Stretch goals Revealed + Stretch Goal #4 UNLOCKED 🎉 - All because of YOU! ❤️
3 months ago – Sat, May 09, 2026 at 07:33:16 AM

Hi everyone,

Reactor Rescue crossed €125,000 with over 1,450 amazing backers. That's over 2,500% funded!

We are SO excited to write this update because, thanks to your incredible support, we just unlocked Stretch Goal #4!

And now we want to tell you ALL about it, AND reveal every Stretch Goal we have planned. Yes, all of them. Let's go!

As first-time Kickstarter creators, these last two and a half weeks have been nothing short of an intense, rewarding, sometimes-we-forget-to-eat kind of journey. And honestly? We can't wait to give back. Not just by making sure you get your game on time, but by rewarding your support with stretch goals that make Reactor Rescue something you'll keep coming back to.

Now, as computer science engineers ourselves, we naturally love apps, the flexibility, the versatility. But this time? We heard you. And we made something physical.

Some of you saw this coming!

We're adding a Kickstarter-exclusive deck of Engineer Character Cards, beautifully illustrated, and only available through this campaign!

When we announced Stretch Goal #3, some of you started asking: "Why aren't the Engineers physical cards?"

Truth is, we'd been designing physical Engineer Character Cards from the very beginning! We originally planned them as Stretch Goal #6, but after listening to your feedback, we reshuffled, improved, and moved them up.

And we were like... oh you have NO idea what's coming!

And now it's time to reveal them:

🚩 STRETCH GOAL #4 - UNLOCKED! 4 Engineer Character Cards in Every Box

At the start of each game, every player draws a random Engineer. Your character gives you a special ability that can turn the game on its head. On every turn, you can choose to activate your Engineer's action, but if you do, you give up the default trade-in action for that turn. Strategy just got a whole lot more interesting.

MEET THE ENGINEERS:

And now the reveal of the next two... Drumroll please... 🥁

🚩 STRETCH GOAL #5: At €150,000 We add the Final 2 Engineers to Complete the Crew

At €150K, two more engineers join to complete the full crew of six. More abilities, more actions, more ways to play! One of them is already designed and ready.

And the 6th engineer? That one is up to YOU.

We couldn't decide. So we're not going to. We will announce four candidates, and when we get closer to unlocking Stretch Goal #5, we'll open a community vote right here on our Kickstarter page.

We need you there when it happens.

And now... something we've been keeping under the hood. Stretch goal #6!

But first, here's what makes Reactor Rescue special, and why this stretch goal exists.

Reactor Rescue isn't just one thing. It's a super fun strategy board game where players step into the roles of engineers and fix their spacecraft by building real circuits. But it's also a creative kit, one that lets you expand your knowledge of electronics and dive into hands-on projects beyond the board game. A board game AND a discovery kit. That duality has always been what excites us most about Reactor Rescue, and we think it's what makes it sooo unique.

The game is built on top of the LabBox system of electronics, a modular set of blocks originally designed for hands-on science discovery. These same blocks power our other educational kits, and we've seen first-hand just how powerful they can be at inspiring real creation. In fact, a recent review from Gaming Trend called them "top-notch"read the full review here.

Now here's the thing some people don't realise yet: the electronics in your Reactor Rescue box aren't just game pieces. They're a full system. The same blocks you use to fix your spacecraft can be used to build real-world projects, alarms, lamps, sensors, interactive gadgets, far beyond the board game.

The missing piece? A way to mount them. In our development process, we've designed something called Clip-it: a simple, elegant solution that lets you attach LabBox blocks to any flat surface: cardboard, fabric, a school poster. It turns the blocks from "game components" into a creative toolkit, usable beyond circuit building!

And for most of you, Reactor Rescue will be your first time meeting the LabBox system. So we want to make sure that first impression goes way beyond the board game!

🚩 STRETCH GOAL #6: At €200,000 we unlock "The Project Lab": 3D-Printable Clip-it Files + 5 Guided Projects

When we hit €200K, every backer gets:

🖨️ 3D-Printable Clip-it Files: Download, print, and snap your LabBox blocks onto anything. Turn your game components into a building system. If you don't have a 3D printer, don't worry, we'll provide files compatible with all major online printing services.

📘 5 Guided Project Books: Step-by-step guides to build 5 real-world projects using only the blocks already in your Reactor Rescue box. Each project includes the science behind it, clear instructions, and creative challenges to take it further.

Why this matters: Right now, when you finish a game of Reactor Rescue, the blocks go back in the box. With the Project Lab, the game doesn't end, it expands. You can take the same components and build a motion-triggered gadget, a mood lamp, a light-up greeting card, and more.

The board game teaches you how circuits work. The Project Lab shows you what you can do with that knowledge and apply it in the real-world!

This is the stretch goal that turns Reactor Rescue from a game you play into a system you keep coming back to. And every single backer gets it, automatically, digitally, at no extra charge.

A sneak peek behind the scenes of some of the creations we've made with the Clip-it solution:

Lastly, we need your help to get there!

We have 11 days left on this campaign, and every single one counts. Share the campaign, comment on our Kickstarter, help us spread the word!

Every new backer brings us closer to putting all of this into your box, and unlocking the Project Lab for everyone.

Thank you for being part of this mission. We mean it! We are so grateful for each and every one of you!

This is Reactor Rescue Mission Control, signing out. Over and out! 🫡

See you soon,

Arta & Fiona 💜
